This week in Kindergarten...
We began our week learning about the letter "R" and the sound it makes. We brainstormed words that begin with the letter R and clapped how many syllables each word has. We also drew and painted robins using the capital letter R. We are hoping for signs of spring to happen!
We then began learning about our 5 Senses in Science. We checked out items in a mystery box using our 5 senses. We also read a story and did a short activity in our visual journal that identified our 5 senses.
To continue our 5 senses learning we next focused on touch. We played a game in the classroom trying to find items that were rough, smooth, hard, bumpy and so on. We also read a story and also created Touchy-Feely pages in our visual journal using different materials such as pipe cleaners, bubble wrap, felt, etc. We then identified descriptive words that went with each piece of material and recorded it.

Upcoming Field Trips:
Kindergarten students will be taking a field trip to the Calgary Farmyard in May. If you are interested in volunteering, you will need to have completed a police clearance prior to the date. More information will be sent out to families regarding the details in the following weeks.
TUESDAYS are our Library Day. We will continue with our regular library visit when we return from Spring Break. Continue to check around your house for any missing library books.
