This week in Kindergarten...
We began the week learning about the letter J and the sound it makes. We read a story, drew pictures of things that begin with J as well as practiced our labelling skills by labelling our pictures. We also made Jellyfish!
We continued our work on patterns by participating in our Great Jellybean Pattern Challenge! Students extended jellybean patterns, labelled their patterns and found the core. For each one they completed, they moved onto the next level of difficulty! It was so fun to see students rise to the challenge.
We practiced making our own patterns on whiteboards with pattern blocks. We labelled them and found the core. We are working hard at creating more complex patterns such as AAB, ABC and ABBC patterns.
We then created our own Jewel Patterns by creating our own pattern, having it repeat 3 times, labelling the pattern and finding the core.
For our work in the 5 Senses, we moved on to our sense of hearing. We played a game where a sound was played and we had to guess what it was by drawing a picture of our guess and identifying the first letter our guess begins with. Ask me what sounds I heard and if my scientific predictions were correct!
